Pride Month begins in June and the Nike Air Max 720 “Be True” partakes in celebrating the LGBTQ community. While the silhouette debuted overseas this weekend, its stateside availability has been pushed back until next week instead.
Boasting a rainbow gradient upper as a nod to the late Gilbert Baker, LGBTQIA+ rights activist and designer of the rainbow flag — the silhouette is contrasted with black mesh/plastic overlays, laces, lining and tongues. Finishing details include “BETRUE” printed in white on the heel pull tabs and Gilbert Baker’s signature emblazoned on the heel of the clear Air Max 720 tooling. In addition, the sockliner graphic represents the eight colors and meanings from the original flag in 1978.
Retailing for $190, look for the Nike Air Max 720 “Be True” at select Nike stores stateside and online on June 8. Always keep it locked to KicksOnFire for the latest in sneaker news, release dates and where to purchase your favorite kicks.
