In the wake of the monumental Clippers signing of Kawhi Leonard and acquisition of Paul George, the dominoes are starting to finally fall. And one of the first ones is Leonard’s teammate Danny Green, who is also headed to Los Angeles. Though it is not the Clippers. Green posted a video to social media first:

Shams Charania of The Athletic reported shortly thereafter that the Los Angeles Lakers are signing Green, not the Clippers. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski followed that minutes later with the details of the contract: a two-year $30 million deal.

A number of teams were in on Danny Green, who was traded with Leonard to the World Champion Toronto Raptors last summer. The Dallas Mavericks were interested in signing Green, though they continue their trend of falling short on free agency targets.
For the Lakers, Green adds a much-needed wing with shooting capabilities to a roster that was paused waiting for Leonard to make his decision. Now the rest of the NBA’s pieces may begin to fall into place.
