Protégé of Janelle Monáe, Jidenna has been largely quiet since his 2017 EP Boomerang. However, that all changes with his two new singles, “Sufi Woman” and “Tribe.”
While “Tribe” is a trap-inflected offering, “Sufi Woman” is the real bop of the two which tapes into Jidenna’s Nigerian/Afrobeat roots.
