We’re talking snapbacks to socks to sneakers and everything in between.
For now, we’re still feeling out how best to put together SNX DLX — so expect some changes to the format over the next few weeks. In terms of what’s dropping this week, it’s looking rather expensive, so don’t get too excited. Two Yeezy drops, a Supreme Nike Collaboration, and a fresh apparel drop from Palace will have any streetwear aficionado’s bank account in full crisis mode.
Let’s get into it. Here are all the best sneaker and clothing drops out this week.
SHOES — Nike Air Max 720 x OBJ Young King Of The People
Nike and Odell Beckham Jr. have linked up for the dual-branded Young King Of The People Air Max 720. Taking inspiration from the sand dunes of Egypt, the latest OBJ collab infuses ‘90s Nike football style with OBJ’s personal favorite Air Max Design elements.
Featuring a heavy-layered mesh and suede upper, the Young King Of The People sports a cork insole and hieroglyphic inspired Nike branding across the heel atop an Air Make 720 outsole. It’s much more subtle than OBJ’s previous Young King Of The Drip colorway which, with its wild drip-color design, proved divisive amongst OBJ super fans.
The Nike Air Max 720 x OBJ Young King of the People is set to drop on September 8th and will retail for $200. Pick up a pair at the Nike online store.
SHOES — Adidas YEEZY BOOST 700 Magnet/Inertia
Kanye is dropping two different iterations of the YEEZY BOOST 700 this week — the woven-upper Magnet and mesh-heavy v2 Inertia. The Magnet is gradient-gray toned and features woven panels with suede overlays. It’s a simple and understated look for the fall season. The v2 Inertia takes a softer approach with a blue-imbued grey colorway with pastel orange accents and the 700s classic mesh upper.
The Adidas YEEZY BOOST 700s drop this week, with the Magnet releasing on September 4th and the Inertia coming later in the week on September 7th. Both pairs will retail for $300 and can be found at the Adidas online store of through YEEZYSUPPLY.
SHOES — Adidas Liberty Cup
Adidas has just unveiled a new silhouette that takes inspiration from ‘90s skate culture and tennis court style. The Adidas Liberty Cup is a performance-based sneaker made for skating and the streets. Featuring a premium mixed leather, suede, and knit-mesh upper, the Liberty Cup sports a vulc-wrap mid and gum sole and is equipped with Bounce construction for high impact protection and support. Other details include a molded Adiprene sicklier and Adituff reinforcement to ensure comfort throughout your skate sesh.
It remains to be seen how popular the Liberty Cup ends up being, but congrats to Adidas for introducing a brand new silhouette so late into 2019. This is like the Rod Laver got a skate centric upgrade.
The Adidas Liberty Cup is available now at a retail price of $90. Pick up a pair at the Adidas online store.
SHOES — Adidas x White Mountaineering Nite Jogger Collection
If you followed Paris Fashion Week back in January, you might’ve seen a pair of these eye-catching Nite Joggers making their way across the runways. Made in collaboration with Japanese label White Mountaineering, this special iteration of the Nite Jogger features design touches by Yosuke Aizawa — who expertly fuses his love of streetwear and the outdoors on this Earth-toned and functional collection.
Dropping in both an orange/green/red and moss green/gray/burgundy colorway, this take on the Nite Jogger features White Mountaineering branding across a TPU Heel, and the silhouette’s signature reflective detailing over a layered suede, leather, and mesh upper. The shoes also prominently feature White Mountaineering’s design philosophy across the tongue tag which reads: One: design. Two: utility. Three: Technology. The imagination to fuse these elements together. The attitude of not submitting to sales or market needs.
A little overblown, perhaps, but expect to be the most stylish person on the hiking trail if you rock these.
The Adidas x White Mountaineering Nite Jogger collection is set to drop on September 5th for a retail price of $160. Pick up a pair exclusively through the Adidas online store.
SHOES — Supreme Nike SB Dunk Low
If you’ve been holding out on buying a fresh pair of kicks for this upcoming season, smart move — because if you’re only buying one pair of sneakers you’re going to want it to be the latest Supreme drop. Nike and Supreme have linked up for a new two-toned take on Nike’s SB Dunk Low silhouette with a Zoom Air midsole and dual branding throughout.
Dropping in white-red, black-silver, and navy-gold colorways, Supreme’s take on the SB Dunk features metallic-tinged leather uppers and small-scale jewel Swoosh that matches each pair’s toe box color. The winner of the collection is the white and red colorway, so expect that pair to sell out in typical Supreme fashion.
The Supreme Nike SUB Dunk Low pack is set to drop on September 5th and will retail for $110. Pick up a pair at the New York, Brooklyn, or Los Angeles Supreme store or through Supreme’s online store.
APPAREL — Travis Scott Look Mom I Can Fly
Following the release of his new Netflix documentary, Look Mom I Can Fly, and a surprise cereal release, Travis Scott has just dropped a new customizable apparel collection. Consisting of t-shirts and hoodies, the customizable line features four pieces that can be further altered to include Scott’s custom Cactus Jack typography, “Look Mom I Can Fly” graphics, and Cactus plant graphics.
The collection runs from $40 for the cheapest tee to $110 for the most expensive hoodie, keeping this apparel drop clear out of the “collectors only” price point. Customize your hoodie or tee at the Look Mom I Can Fly official website.
APPAREL — NOAH Garbage Long-Sleeve T-Shirts
The weather is beginning to cool in most places across the United States, which means we’re approaching long-sleeve t-shirt season. If you’re on the hunt for some new basics and you’re looking to lessen your carbon footprint, consider picking up one of NOAH’s just dropped 100% recycled cotton-long-sleeves, dubbed the “Garbage Long-Sleeve.”
Made from recycled yarn, NOAH promises that their “Garbage Long-Sleeve” is tough enough to withstand washes without losing shape. It also features a modern-cut that vibes with today’s streetwear. Releasing in black, white, burgundy, and what NOAH calls “Bottle” (teal) colors, the Garbage Long-Sleeve is manufactured in Los Angeles and hopefully signals the start of a new era in clothing manufacturing.
As such, the “Garbage Long-Sleeve” is priced more expensively than you’d expect from a t-shirt — $58 each. Before you scoff at the price, consider people are more than willing to pay four-times that price for something similarly-basic from Supreme. Does that mean you care more about the environment than them if you opt for the Garbage Long-Sleeve? Yes. It probably does.
Are we still likely doomed in the fight against global temperature rise? Well… you’re going to have to change a lot more than your gear buying habits, but it’s a start.
Pick up the shirt through NOAH Clothing’s online store.
APPAREL — Palace Autumn Drop
Palace is all queued up to release an Autumn drop this week — featuring a shell jacket with glow-in-the-dark accents, a cigarette-box inspired hoodie, and several fall-leaning pieces that’ll have you styling for the season. Highlights include the aforementioned gems as well as an Earthy stripped Palace long-sleeve, Bug Munch graphic tee, and various caps from the collection.
From Palace’s last drop we’d still highly recommend the G-Loss Jacket and Pure Palace Avirex Jacket if you’re on the hunt for something to help you get through the colder nights of autumn. The blue and black versions of the G-Loss are still available, though the eye-catching silver is completely sold out.
The latest drop is set to hit the Palace webstore as well as the London, New York, and Los Angeles physical stores on September 6th. Check out other highlights from the collection below.
