Kanye West‘s Sunday Service Choir released their much-anticipated album “Jesus is Born,” on Christmas Day. the project features new arrangements and reworkings of old West songs as well as songs the choir has performed at Sunday Service.
The 19 tracks feature gospel-inspired remixes of Kanye tracks including “Ultralight Beam,” “Father Stretch My Hands,” and “Fade,” along with the choir’s renditions of SWV’s “Weak” and Soul II Soul’s “Back to Life.” The spiritual set also includes gospel tunes like Shirley Caesar’s “Satan, We’re Gonna Tear Your Kingdom Down” and “Revelations 19:1.”
“Jesus Is Born” is the second release of 2019 for West and his gospel collective, which he first debuted in January 2019 and which has performed each Sunday.
Kanye is now preparing to drop the “Jesus Is King” sequel with Dr. Dre. Kanye spoke about the collaboration during the Sunday Service in Lynwood, California, earlier this month.
