In this new entry in our ‘Diamonds In The Rough’ category, we want to introduce you to upcoming artist Janessa-Nicole and her brand new single titled “Where The Water Flows”.
Janessa-Nicole is an R&B artist with a 90’s soul. The NJ native is a passionate Pisces with soothing vocals. Janessa-Nicole’s first project, 1994, exemplifies her journey from pursuing law school to revealing to the world her craft. Janessa-Nicole grew up immersed in music and started singing at six years old. By the age of twelve, she was songwriting. Her father was a musician who played many instruments. Although she put her music dreams on hold to pursue degrees, she never ceased creating music. Her biggest influences are Anita Baker, Alicia Keys, Aaliyah, Beyonce, and Brandy. 1994 was born out of a need to find herself. ‘In the beginning, I did not know I was working towards a project. Singing and writing was just a mechanism for coping with quarantine. Also, it was a spiritual awakening realizing my purpose.’ She is currently preparing for the release of her second project, Me, Myself And My Pen.
