DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH: Oshanna – “Energy”

In this new entry in our ‘Diamonds In The Rough’ category, we want to introduce you to upcoming artist Oshanna and her brand new single titled “Energy”.

Oshanna Davis, known simply as “Oshanna” is a Singer-songwriter originally from Toronto, Canada. She released her debut single ‘Antidote’ in 2017 and since then, things have taken off for the R&B singer.

“Antidote” appeared on Vibe 105.5FM and helped Oshanna gain local notoriety. Oshanna plans to break international boarders and has even begun doing artist show cases south of the border across the states. She continues to build a name for herself as a rising R&B/soul artist to watch, with her passionate and heartfelt performances. In 2022, Oshanna entered the “Coast To Coast” Contest and performed in NYC for the first time.

She won 1st place, earning a sought-after spot in the finals in Miami, Florida. Synchronizing her melodic and soulful sound with piano and acoustic guitar from childhood, Oshanna found her love for rnb though listening and watching artists of the early 2000’s.

Artists like Alicia Keys, Kiesha Cole, Fantasia, and Jasmine Sullivan, Micheal Jackson and Lauren Hill helped shape Oshanna’s style and musical preferences. As her inspirations grew and her gifts developed Oshanna sought out piano and vocal training from guru’s like “Elaine Overholt” and “Shi Wisdom”. Oshanna was always known as the child to bring in the crowd at family functions if there was a mic present, no matter the event. From singing at weddings and birthday parties, Oshanna allowed her gift to take her across the US and plant her seeds. Her sound truly channels the spirit of authentic R&B while exploring the genre from a different perspective.
